Here are some interesting bits and media coverage – both social and traditional, about the Web Challenge 09. Enjoy.
Some interesting info and stats:
- 12 teams, 12 MN-Nonprofits
- 120 developers + a number of support staff
- 3360+ hours in lost sleep
- Probably 480+ hours in lost productivity today assuming 4 hours per developer half asleep, checking wrap up info, reconnecting with team members, etc for developers and support staff.
- 120+ chipotle burritos consumed as well as a ton of other great food from Buffalo Wild Wings and more
- Conservative estimate of 700 lbs of food/drink consumed between 5 meals
- Someone estimated that the overall work done (exclusively at the event and not including ongoing support) is estimated at (10 people per team x 24 hours x $125/hour) = $30,000.00 per non-profit. Snap.
- #Webchallenge hit the #7 trend on twitter at some point
- Uncountable numbers of people’s lives benefited by the affect all this has on the non-profits benefited!
