Don’t Say “Klingon” and “Honor” in a humorous fashion together

I have been reading some AOL news this morning since this is day two of their bait and switch of the Netscape’s Social News Network. Me bitter? Na - I’m working on a post how switching brands might have been a great thing for the project.

Anyway, Cenk Uygur of Air America’s Morning show is supposedly suing Steven Colbert over a joke made relating the recent Republican Debate’s tossing around of the word “honor” to the Star Trek Klingons. Uygur is suing for $65 million dollars, the amount that that one judge sued the dry cleaners over his pants. Seriously what is going on?
AOL Story Here

Firstly, the joke isn’t even the same. The only thing connecting the two is Klingons and The Republican Debate footage. How many people have made Braveheart references when Bush throws around the word “Freedom”?

Second, the owners of the Star Trek enterprise (joke, get it?) should sue them both for using their footage for political reasons. I guess this is only Disney’s territory.

Finally, I’m pretty sure this is just a way for Uygur to get some publicity for his show that I nor probably have of America has heard of. The only time I have really heard about Air America is when conservatives slam Garisson Keilor’s liberal values. I realize everyone is just fighting for ratings. But suing over that joke? Common…

Oh one last thing… What is with Uygur making an OJ reference to himself. I’m sure Nichole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman’s families are amused.
