Is the US Political System on the Verge of Collapse?

I beg the question, “Is the US Political System on the Verge of Collapse?”

Watching CNN today, I learned that Florida Democrats are suing The Democratic National Convention. Originally, Florida Democrats wanted to push their primaries ahead which resulted in retaliation from the DNC. Florida Dems countersued.

In other news, Republicans are rallying to oust Idaho Senator Larry Craig over a misdemeanor charge involving  bathroom sex scandals. Craig retracted his bid to resign which may result in a review by ethics committees.  This is a blow to the GOP who is typically more Family Values oriented.

Meanwhile, it looks like Blackwater is just getting a slap on the wrist, Clinton is still mixed up in the illegal campaign contribution scandal, Obama refuses to wear the Flag, Bush refuses to take money from smokers and give it to help children, and the dollar is falling like a rock.

We’re constantly bombarded by the idea that other nations hate us and that 911 will happen again unless we fight it. Assuming this is all true, then isn’t this the greatest time to have a strong unified nation? It seems like back in 2000, the nation was divided after the Bush/Gore election. However, now it seems the country is divided even among its political parties. Is all this fear a self fulfilling prophecy or just business as usual? hmm.
