The Economic Crunch
I figured out my bills today and… damn, I am broke.
With my transmission crapping out last week, I am going to be cutting it reeeeeallly close this month. Close to the point where I am probably not going to be able to now afford to pay off my stupid furniture I bought in June. I’m thinking of asking Jon if I can barrow some cash to make ends meet… assuming he won’t charge me 25% apr or whatever CITIbank will charge if I don’t pay off the furniture by the end of the year. Gulp. I think everyone is getting lumps of coal this year for Xmas. God I hope I get a bunch of money back from taxes…
Anyway, this lead me to a thought… I should really dedicate more time to making art, and selling it. My allusions to interaction series was initially created for the intention of selling it. However, as the series progressed, I got more into it and forgot about the idea. Maybe, I need to think about it more.
So, if I were to sell my work on the side, I need to figure out what would sell well without compromising my style too much. Perhaps smaller drawings in the $20 - $50 price range. Perhaps big paintings in the $1000 range. Perhaps I could try to solicit commissions for flyer artwork or similar gigs. I could probably pick up some design work, but I really hate being on the computer. If Brandon and I get the lizard molds figured out, we could probably sell those as well… maybe $100 per mold less materials split 2 ways. Attempt to sell 40 of them for spring when all the people are out getting their gardens ready. That would be $4k before materials and splitting it. Not tooo bad. Hmm. I could also hop on the fest circuit. The holiday fairs are coming. hmmm…
Anyway, I ask you all, would you be interested in buying any of my previous work? or perhaps have interest in commissions? I’m not taking bids - I am just polling to see if there is interest to help me guage if this is a viable solution to getting out of the gutter.

We ended up replacing all our appliances this year so it has been terribly expensive. We were planning on building a new house next year, but with the economy and the expenses of the year we are talking about waiting another year to do it.
I would be interested in a small piece of artwork something in the $20-$50 price range, but does that mean I would need to pay shipping and handling charges too
